Voice Dialogue by Affirmotive

affirm_voice2

Amongst a variaty of modalities Affirmotive's professional counsellor and sex therapist often chooses Voice Dialogue as a powerful and transformational technique, which increases self-awareness and allows you to have more choices and balance within yourself and in your life.

In essence, Voice Dialogue makes you more fully conscious of all the aspects of your humanity, be they spiritual, sexual, sensual, instinctual, materially focused, service-oriented, emotional, rational, parental, or childlike.

Voice Dialogue takes you closer to your essential nature.

Voice Dialogue and it's underlying theoretical base, the Psychology of the Selves and the Psychology of the Aware Ego, have their roots in Jungian Psychology and was developed by two American psychologists, Dr. Hal Stone and Dr. Sidra Stone, who teach and train people worldwide. Voice Dialogue is gradually becoming a part of psychology and psychotherapy curriculums in universities and colleges all over the world.

Voice Dialogue is successfully used in diverse treatment areas including; personal development, relationship therapy, sex therapy, physical awareness, and communication training.

Voice Dialogue is a unique way of giving voice to different parts of one's personality. It is extremely effective in solving interpersonal differences and long-standing deep emotional conflict.

Voice Dialogue is an invaluable tool to develop self-awareness, to increase self-acceptance and it gives you more choices. It unleashes creativity, inner wisdom, balance, and a sense of realism, purpose and wholeness.

Affirmotive's clients often report a sense of enormous relief, 'I felt entrapped in myself, now I have a clear focus. My Voice Dialogue sessions made me aware of the full spectrum of my personality.'

You can seek short term or long term treatment.

Affirmotive offers both. This decision will be based on a variety of factors including the depth and severity of issues you want to solve. Heide recommends a series of 2-4 sessions for the treatment of surface problems including procrastination and poor decision making. Additional sessions are encouraged for solving longstanding and deep emotional issues.

Become your own therapist: Voice Dialogue is a take home tool for life.

Once you have created an Aware Ego and you have learned to separate from your Primary Selves, you are able to implement Voice Dialogue as a part of your daily life, be your own therapist, solve your conflicts and achieve your goals.

Affirmotive recommends Voice Dialogue as an effective tool in dream work.

Dreams are messages formed in the unconscious mind and are presented to the dreamer as a combination of thoughts, images and emotions, occuring during night sleep or as daydreams. Clients who want to do dream work and choose Voice Dialogue will learn to remember their dreams, and dialogue with both the conscious and unconscious inner parts of personality that present themselves as various dream images and emotions.

"A dream that is not understood is like a letter that has not been opened" - The Talmud   "I prefer to read my mail" - Carl Jung

Sex Therapy by Affirmotive

Sex therapy is a specialized form of counselling. Sex therapists are specially trained professionals with an academic education in human sexuality.

Affirmotive draws from a range of counselling modalities in sex therapy, namely Personal History Taking, PLISSIT Model, Masters & Johnson Model, Sensate Focus Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Voice Dialogue.

Affirmotive's clinical sex therapist works closely with the medical practitioner of your choice, or will make a referral if medical treatments are required.

Taking A Personal History

Taking a client's sexual and relational development history is essential in sex therapy. The content of the history allows the experienced sex therapist to identify unhelpful beliefs and learned dysfunctional behaviours, and to draw possible connections to the client's current sexual distress.

PLISSIT Model

This model is based on giving permission and providing the counsellor with information concerning the distressing sexual or relational situation; and the counsellor providing specific suggestions followed by intensive sex therapy.

Masters and Johnson Model

The researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson measured masturbation, sexual function and dysfunction, and sexual behaviour responses in couples in a laboratory setting. Although this research dates back to the 60's/70's, much information is still valued today.

Sensate Focus Therapy

A cornerstone of sex therapy is a series of behavioural exercises named 'sensate focus exercises'. These highly structured touching activities are designed to overcome body alienation and performance anxiety, and to increase comfort with physical intimacy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a psychotherapeutic approach in the 'here and now' aiming to solve problems and distress caused by irrational thoughts, disturbed emotions, and dysfunctional behaviours. CBT is a well-researched, effective, goal-orientated, and systematic procedure.

Solution Focused (Brief) Therapy (SFBT)

SFBT is a talking therapy and is based on social constructionist philosophy. SFBT focuses on what clients want to achieve through therapy, rather then on a problem or on the past.

SFBT aims to build strength and moves towards a desired future. SFBT therapists believe that change is constant, and help clients to achieve their desired outcomes.

Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)

PCT assumes that the answers to the client's problems are found within the client themselves. PCT therapists facilitate the client, rather then giving directions. PCT is one of the widest used models in psychotherapy. PCT therapists create a comfortable and non-judgemental environment where the client can speak up in confidence. PCT is a non-directive therapy approach and is facilitating the client to come to their own conclusions.
